Cognitive Behavioral Programming for Adults Who Are Incarcerated in Prisons

Since 1993, The Pathfinder Network has partnered with the Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC) to deliver evidence-based cognitive behavioral programs to adults who are incarcerated that promote positive change and increased resilience leading to successful reentry and exit from the justice system.

Our prison programs offer the tools and skills needed to navigate incarceration and prepare for reentry. We focus on enhancing strengths, confidence, support, and resilience, which are all directly linked to reduced recidivism and systems involvement.

We currently provide programming in nine of Oregon’s eleven prisons and offer responsive options, including parenting skill programming, and gender-specific programming.

Justice system involvement is challenging for anyone, especially when experiencing it alone or without support.

We provide support during incarceration and at every point of navigating the system and beyond. We specialize in delivering evidence-based programming for individuals navigating the justice system.

Programs we offer at Men’s Institutions include:

Free Your Mind – CORE (FYMC)

Designed for adults involved in the justice system and consists of a series of cognitive-behavioral modules that target criminogenic needs. FYMC is skill-based and prioritizes the learning of cognitive restructuring, emotion regulation, and social skills in an engaging, practical, and hands-on way. FYMC is intended to reduce misconducts and post-release recidivism; and to teach the skills needed to achieve greater self-control, satisfaction, and purpose in life without illegal behavior.
